“THE LORD IS YOUR COMFORTER IN TIMES OF TROUBLE”

Matthew 5:4; “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” Jesus will comfort you in your time of mourning and grief. Before He went to the Cross, He prayed for His disciples. John 14:16,27; 16. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever.” 27. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you, Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” The Comforter, who is the Holy Spirit, teaches and reminds us of what God has said.

He imparts spiritual peace upon us. 2Corinthians 1:3-4; 3. Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4. Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” We go through adversities or worry, but God comforts us and we should also comfort one another. Isaiah 41:10; “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” He is always with you.

He will lift you up and strengthen you through the trials, tribulations and storms you may encounter in your life. Psalms 34:18; “The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.” Psalms 147:3; “He healeth the broken, and bindeth up their wounds.” God heals our hearts and comforts us through times of grief and hard times. Psalms 116:15; “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

You are precious to God. He calls you beloved. Romans 1:7; “To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.” Revelations 21:4; “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” This is a comfort in itself. If there be tears, they will be tears of joy and not of sorrow. You will have blessed peace with the Lord in times of adversity, tribulation and hardship.

TOTAL SURRENDER II

MEMORISE:
“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” – (Luke 6:38)

READ: 1 KINGS 17:8-16 (KJV)

8 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,

9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.

10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.

11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.

12 And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.

14 For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.

15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.

16 And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.

MESSAGE:

My God is not a man that He should owe anyone; He is not a bank that ‘keeps’ your money but depletes it with charges. When you give God one thing, you can get a thousand in return. I am a living testimony of this. I surrendered my Ph.D., thriving career in academics and ambition to become the youngest Vice Chancellor in Africa to Him; in return, He raised me so high that many Vice Chancellors call me ‘Daddy’. Whatever you surrender to God comes back to you in many folds.

The woman in the Bible reading for today surrendered her last meal to the prophet of God. That one meal became enough to feed three people for the rest of the famine. The boy in John 6:9-11 surrendered his lunch; five loaves of bread and two fishes. These were multiplied to the extent that twelve baskets of fragments were gathered afterwards. There is nothing you surrender to God that He does not multiply and return to you – absolutely nothing.

Many a time, God has something big He wants to give to you, but could ask you to surrender something dear to you first. If you go ahead and surrender that thing, then you would get what He had already planned to give you, which is usually much bigger and better than what you gave Him. God wanted to bless Abraham the more, so He asked the man to sacrifice his son to Him. God didn’t need the boy; my Daddy does not eat children. He just wanted Abraham to surrender totally to Him so as to open the door of blessings to himself irreversibly. Abraham passed the test and today, in his seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed (Genesis 22:16-18).

Don’t short-change yourself. Don’t hold on to crumbs, letting go of great treasures in the process. If He specifically asked for that thing, you can be sure that He has something greater in mind to give you in return. You can either reject His offer or accept it – it all depends on your willingness to surrender all to Him.

KEY POINT:
Whatever you surrender to God comes back to you in many folds.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: NUMBERS 5-6

HYMNAL: 21 – STANDING ON THE PROMISES OF CHRIST MY KING

  1. Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
    Through eternal ages let His praises ring;
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
Standing on the promises of God.

REFRAIN:
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God my Savior
Standing, standing,
I’m standing on the promises of God.

  1. Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living word of God I shall prevail,
Standing on the promises of God.
  2. Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord,
Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
Standing on the promises of God.
  3. Standing on the promises I cannot fall,
    List’ning ev’ry moment to the Spirit’s call,
Resting in my Savior as my all in all,
Standing on the promises of God.

THE POWER OF GOD’S ARMOR.

ALWAYS WEAR THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD.

Our Safety, Victory and Protection depends on our wearing our armor property and using it well.

(Ephesians 6:13-20)
13) “Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

If one armor is missing, there will be weakness at that area and Satan will take advantage of the situation.

There are evil days which will come to all of us.

Having done all in putting on the armor we need to boldly STAND.

14) “Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness.”

A) THE BELT OF TRUTH.
This represents INTEGRITY in our lives.

Say what you mean and mean what you say.

B) THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Our heart is the organ which needs the maximum protection.

The knowledge and the faith that we are righteous is very important.

Because of the death of Christ on the Cross of Calvary, we are righteous, holy and blameless.

The faith in The Precious Blood of Jesus Christ continually keeps us clean and holy.

We need to repeatedly tell ourselves that we are righteous, holy and blameless because of our faith in Jesus Christ and in His Blood.

15) “And having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace.”

C) THE SHOES TO PROTECT OUR FEET.

This represents our PREPAREDNESS TO PREACH THE GOSPEL.

The Peace with God and the peace of God should reign our hearts.

16) “Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.”

D) THE SHIELD OF FAITH.

All the time Satan will be sending the fiery arrows – evil thoughts, temptations, suspicions, jealousy, etc

We should resist them with the shield of faith.

That is why we should meditate the Word of God day and night.

17) “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

E) THE HELMET OF SALVATION — THE HOPE OF GLORY.

As children of God and as His servants we have a GLORIOUS HOPE.

The Rapture is going to happen soon.

F) THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT WHICH IS THE WORD OF GOD.

All the previous armor were DEFENSIVE weapons.

But this one Sword of the Spirit is the offensive weapon.

Satan is afraid of the Word of God.

He flees away when we use the Word of God under the Anointing of the Holy Spirit.

18) “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.”

G) PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT IS ANOTHER OFFENSIVE WEAPON.

We should do it with PERSEVERANCE.

We should pray for all the saints all over the world for we are part of the Body of Christ.

19) “And for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel.”

H) PREACHING OF THE WORD OF GOD IS ALSO AN OFFENSIVE WEAPON.

We need the prayers of saints to strengthen us.

20) “For which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”

We are Ambassadors of Jesus Christ in chains.

We should preach the gospel with Boldness.

STAGGER NOT, GOD IS FAITHFUL & HE IS COMING THROUGH FOR YOU

(ROMANS 4:17-21 UKJV)

UKJV (v17): (As it is written, I have made you a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who replenishes life to the dead, and calls those things which be not as though they were.
BBE: (As it is said in the holy Writings, I have made you a father of a number of nations) before him in whom he had faith, that is, God, who gives life to the dead, and to whom the things which are not are as if they were.

UKJV (v18): Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall your seed be.
BBE: Who without reason for hope, in faith went on hoping, so that he became the father of a number of nations, as it had been said, So will your seed be.

UKJV (v19): And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb:
BBE: And not being feeble in faith though his body seemed to him little better than dead (he being about a hundred years old) and Sarah was no longer able to have children:

UKJV (v20): He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
BBE: Still, he did not give up faith in the undertaking of God, but was made strong by faith, giving glory to God,

UKJV (v21): And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

  • *And being certain that God was able to keep his word.

THE POWER OF GOD’S REDEMPTION…

WAITING FOR THE REDEMPTION OF THE LORD.

(Psalm130)
1) “Out of the depths I have cried to You, O Lord.”

As God’s children and as His servants our dependence is on our Triune God.

Father God is our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior and the Blessed Holy Spirit is our Indwelling Spirit.

In whatever state we are in, we cry to our ALMIGHTY GOD.

2) “Lord, hear my voice!
Let Your ears be attentive
To the voice of my supplications.”

O Lord, hear my voice.

Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.

3) “If You, Lord, should mark iniquities,
O Lord, who could stand?”

Our Triune God is a Loving and Merciful God.

In Christ, He has forgiven our sins.

Jesus Christ died for our sins on the Cross of Calvary.

If we refuse to repent and accept the forgiveness of sins from Jesus Christ, there is no other way.

Forgiveness of sins is only in Jesus Christ.

4) “But there is forgiveness with You,
That You may be feared.”

On the Cross of Calvary Jesus Christ took all our sins away.

We are holy, righteous and blameless in Christ.

Now the Holy Spirit can dwell within us.

Glory to God.

5) “I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
And in His word I do hope.”

Our hope is in the Word of God.

We always wait for the Lord.

Our soul waits for His Word.

6) “My soul waits for the Lord
More than those who watch for the morning—
Yes, more than those who watch for the morning.”

Our souls waits for the Lord.

Our salvation comes from the Lord.

Our salvation is from the penalty of sin, from the power of sin and from the presence of sin.

All these are available to us in Christ.

7) “O Israel, hope in the Lord;
For with the Lord there is mercy,
And with Him is abundant redemption.”

Israel are the chosen people of God.

But in Christ all of us are also His chosen people.

Our hope is in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The love and mercy of God are revealed to us in Jesus Christ.

And in and with CHRIST, we have abundant Redemption.

8) “And He shall redeem Israel
From all his iniquities.”

Jesus Christ will redeem His people from all their sins.

WORDS OF WISDOM FOR REAL WIVES AND TO BE WIVES….

  1. As a Wife, your BEAUTY attracts your husband, but your WISDOM will continue to keep him!
  2. Your ELEGANCE catches his ATTENTION, but your INTELLIGENCE convinces him!
  3. NAGGING irritates your husband, but your “CONSTRUCTIVE SILENCE” weakens him!
  4. Remember that the “BOYISH” character in your husband comes out occasionally. But, your ability to always handle it, is a sign that you are a MATURE WIFE!
  5. Every man has SECRET STRUGGLES AND PAINS, including your husband. If you should ever find them out from him, please exhibit the greatest maturity by asking the ORIGINATOR of your marriage(God) to help you with USEFUL IDEAS, that you will suggest to him (your husband)!
  6. In the long run, your WORDS matter to your husband than your “LOOKS”! So always invest the RIGHT WORDS!
  7. Earn your husband’s RESPECT and he will consider you as the YARDSTICK for all his actions!
  8. Learn to MOULD your husband’s MOODS, and he will NATURALLY give you his “FUTURE” as he recalls your maturity in the past issues!
  9. Note that, WOMEN are everywhere, but REAL WIVES are scarce, let the QUEEN in you come alive, and your husband will always hold you in very HIGH ESTEEM!
